Flood Barrier Testing

Flood barrier testing on the Flow Defence product was conducted using engineering facilities at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) located in Queensland Australia.

Full Scale Model

The project involved constructing a model which could house the flood barrier and simulate rising flood water conditions.  The full scale model was 6m long and incorporated 6m Flow Defence modular barrier. Testing conducted at USC evaluated buoyancy, deflection, durability, bypass and the effectiveness of sealing mechanisms on the barrier modules. 99% of simulated flood water was retained by the Flow Defence flood barrier during product evaluation.
